Oduor, Collins, PhD.
Dr. Collins Oduor is an Assistant Professor, Information Systems. Dr. Oduor hold a PhD in Information Systems – University of Nairobi with specialty areas: Information systems, distributed systems and parallel systems. Dr Oduor has good teaching and research experience at university level and a vast experience in the fields of ICT Consultancies and Teaching, lifelong learning, and ICT 4 development programs. Collins has vast experience in ICT integration in education through training for teacher trainees in Primary Teacher Training Colleges in Kenya. He has also participated in the Accelerated 21st Century Education (ACE) ICT integration in Education Pilot Project for Ministry of Education, Teacher Education Professional Development Program 2009-2012 as a consultant and as a master trainer. Collins has also participated in the Inter University Council of East Africa (IUCEA) Staff mobility program as external examiner 2015 & 2018 in addition Dr. Oduor is also an External examiner for Namibia University of Science and Technology (Namibia) and University of Venda (South Africa ). Collins has been a Panel Presenter/Speaker in Academia roundtable “New teaching approaches for higher learning institutions in the digital era” presentation at the World Summit on Information Systems (WSIS) organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Geneva Switzerland. Dr Oduor has supervised over twenty masters students thesis/projects, participated in various curricula development for so many universities in the region. In addition to the membership in professional bodies, Dr Oduor has also published scholarly books, books chapters and over ten papers in referred journals publications plus additional international conference paper presentations on ICT. Collins has been a reviewer and editor of papers for some International Journals. On community service ,participated in the Hultz Prize Nairobi Regional Summits as a judge and also currently a mentor in the Presidential Digital Talent Program (PDTP) and that Collins is now keen on research areas covering more on ICT integration in Education, ICT4Development, Design and behavioral design in ICT systems, Citizen Science, Community services and linkages.
